DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 961, 21J, 16S, massive 14K gold A.W.C.Co. HC recase with very attractive engraving detail, front shield with initials, Jurgensen-style lips, bow with chain guards, gold cuvette as well as glazed observation cover over mvt, "A.N. Anderson, Standard Time" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, pinstripe pattern nickel damascene, s#325163. Gross weight of assembled watch 88.2 dwt (137.2 g). An attractive high grade watch with notably massive gold case. The private label dial signature of this piece is validated by the Hamilton factory ledger which shows this particular serial number as having been sold to A.N. Anderson on December 7th, 1906.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, few small fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with very faint outer chapter hl at 4; excellent hands; case shows very little wear, nick to lower-right shoulder of front that is evident to inner surface of lid but has negligible exterior visibility, no dents, excellent engraving detail, cuvette with a long fine scratch from a slipped past opening; bow pivots semi-freely, crown shows light wear; good glass crystals.
